The usage of dead names can degraded the validation gender dysphoric teens are trying to build for themselves. Using a new name and/or pronouns isn’t too difficult, and since it’s a new person, would be just as easy as learning said student’s dead name.
As someone who identifies as a different gender than that they were born with, hearing someone call me a “he” or Orpheus can make my day, and through discussion with others who identify with a different name than what they were born with -it applies to them too-.
