Highland High School in Indiana coming back after winter break doesn’t have nearly as many students back as we’re here before. Covid has spiked and other schools in the area have closed. Shopping centers have closed. Many parents are keeping their kids home safe. Highland needs to give online as an option. This year can’t go on like the the beginning of 2022 is starting hard it’s bad people are sick. Highland does not care about their students. Their students safety means nothing to them. The principal is at school when coughing a lot. That is not setting a good example for students to brush off a cough when it could be infectious. Schools should be closing or at least not trapping their students. Make online an option or close. Students were promised a normal year at the beginning then got forced into wearing masks. Now forced to be here when it’s unsafe with the covid spike. Schools have become dangerous unsanitary places where covid can spread fast. The close contacts are just told to stay at school and keep going to school if they don’t have symptoms. They don’t even have to get tested or anything. No parents signature either. Kids can just show up and say that they feel fine and then are let go on with their day. Students can get covid without symptoms. They can still be spreading it. But Highland doesn’t require getting tested to come back from close contact. Just the student saying they feel fine.
