Lower the unemployment rate and discrimination in the pre-employment process.

The state of Indiana has no affirmative action requirements for private employers. Public sectors do have a AAR in place that need to be met each year. Although, Indiana implemented the Indiana Civil Rights Law to protect each potential workers rights, it does not in fact prevent discrimination from occurring. If we don't know that we're being discriminated against, how could we ever do something about it? I've proposed an AA policy that mandates all private employers to have some sort of Affirmative Action requirements. Affirmative action is defined as "an action or policy favoring those who tend to suffer from discrimination, especially in relation to employment or education; positive discrimination." Each private and public employer would be required to meet a quota of hired minorities for that year. Each year this quota is to be upheld. I believe that this will help diminish discrimination in the pre-employment process. Unemployment percentages would go down for the minorities. Please sign this petition to support the cause!
