Doctors and Medical shops in India need to be de-linked.

Indian Government has introduced Jan Aushadhi scheme for distribution of generic medicines, to make medicines available at affordable prices to majority of the population.

But, majority of medicines distribution in India is through medical shops directly controlled by Doctors and their hospital setups.

These medical shops rarely distribute generic medicines, and are heavily profit driven. They contribute major profits to doctors who write brand specific  prescriptions, violating the basic rule laid out by Clause 1.5 of the Indian Medical Council Regulation.

Hence, Supreme Court and Indian Govt should shutdown all Medical shops situated right inside and besides doctor's clinics and hospitals. In place of these Jan Aushadhi outlets should be opened.
