Priyanka Bhageria started this petition to Indian Government

Today 77.5% of women in urban areas use sanitary pads. Although this is not a viable and sustainable alternative considering the large amount of waste generated and harm on the environment but not many of us women are personally comfortable using menstrual cups or cloth pads so we need to make the process of decomposing this more efficient. Hard to believe but a single woman can generate upto 125 kg of sanitary pad waste through her menstruating years alone with each pad taking upto 500 to 800 years to naturally breakdown. Handling this mammoth task isn't really hard considering the use of an incinerator. It is nothing but a small box like machine in which the sanitary pads are converted to ash and this ash can easily be disposed. Being very user friendly and a cost of around 8000 to 10000. This will also not only humongously reduce the amount of sanitary waste but also solve the severe health problems it inflicts on the people dealing with the garbage! This is the most environment and pocket friendly way of dealing with these tons of pads generated so please help me in urging the government to install these in all government schools, colleges and offices and also making it a compulsion in all public places.
