Currently most of the IT employees have variable pay component in their Salary(CTC). This component vary from 5 to 40% based on the job level and company. Companies payout this variable salary either in every quarter or once in a year. Most of the companies pay at the year end. Most of the companies not paying 100% of this variable component. They decide the pay out percentage based on performance of the employee, company performance and other factors. There are no specific rules or guidelines to measure employee's performance. All these rules are subjective. Some companies take the advantage of this and decide the pay out as they want. Employees are getting impacted due to favourism, irrelevant reasons and etc., I request labor department look into this and remove the variable salary component . Also, some companies call the varible pay as bonus. Actually, meaning of bonus is reward, but amount being paid by companies is not additional but it is part of his gross salary(CTC) only. If any company call it as bonus, then it should not be mentioned in CTC. I request government should pass the rule to remove variable pay component from IT or any other employees salary.
