A common practice during an interview is that the candidate's value is identified based on his/her previous/current salary packages. The interviewing organisation is seen to make a new offer by considering the old salary packages. This practice overlooks the interviewee's actual worth.

Thus a law is imperative which would consider illegal/prevent the Human Resource (HR)/Interviewer of an organisation from demanding to know the salary of the interviewee.
