Vicky Clifton started this petition to Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA)

MPs are being awarded yet another payrise above the rate of inflation. This will take a basic MP salary to over £79,000 plus expenses and allowances.

Since 2015 MPs have received almost 16% pay increase! It's unfair and unjust.

The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) sets MPs wages. Their decision is supposed to be based on wage rises across the public sector. Anyone working in the public sector knows this government has decimated public services and there have been either no pay rises or a pay rise  below the rate of inflation. The public sector did not get a pay rise of almost 16% since 2015 in fact public sector workers have seen their wages cut by 15% in real terms.

MPs have made an absolute mess of Brexit and the current government continues to roll out Universal Credit in the full knowledge of the poverty it is creating. If MPs salaries increases perform related they would get absolutely nothibg.

Please sign this petition to ask the IPSA to reconsider this unfair and unjust salary increase.
