Increasing accessibility of Boston's commuter rails
Why this petition matters
Hi, we are two high school students working on a civics project to try to make trains in Boston more accessible for everyone. We chose this topic because many students in our school take the train often and we've noticed that it is not completely accessible for everybody. In 2019, the MBTA's PATI conducted a study that "showed that 84 percent of the MBTA’s nearly 8,000 bus stops have at least one significant barrier to accessibility, like a curb with no ramp" (WBUR). Clearly, this percentage is way too high and we're hoping this petition will help lower it. If we get enough signatures, we plan on sending this to a high-ranking member of the MBTA so that some kind of change can happen. Thank you so much for reading and we hope you sign this to help our cause! Have a great day!
