Increase the wage of foster care social workers to decrease burn out rate and provide foster children with more support. Social workers receive a yearly wage of $43,619, and for all they do this is not enough. Social workers in the foster system are employed by a government agency or non-profit organization to take on the cases of foster children and provide them with advocacy, information, and care. They sometimes take on 40-50 cases at a time. This causes the social workers to experience high levels of emotional exhaustion, which blocks them from focusing on giving foster children a safe, stable, permanent home.
