Increase the Tree Canopy on Chicago's South and West Sides

Increase the Tree Canopy on Chicago's South and West Sides
Chicago's tree canopy is already extremely low at 16%, far below the national average. Unsurprisingly, the South and West sides of the city have the lowest percentages of tree canopy of the entire city. Supported by research, an increase in the tree canopy and vegetation not only reduces violent crimes but also reduces harmful pollutants in the air and ultraviolent ray exposure. Planting trees to improve quality of life and safety is a reasonable action plan that the city should initiate.
Our goal is to reach 100 signatures to provide the city with actual community members that want to see change within Chicago's environmental racism that ravages the South and West side communities.
Our campaign is fighting the city's environmental racism one tree at a time. Join us!
