It is estimated that one in five teenagers aged between twelve and eighteen will suffer with at least one diagnosable mental health disorders. This includes depression, anxiety and behavioural disorders. Whilst these things can be managed with therapy, the average weekly secession can cost anywhere between £45-£75 for 1 hour, making it unaffordable for many people. This means they will have to deal with the side effects of living with a mental disorder.
Whilst schools do provide some counselling sessions, there is not enough to provide everyone who needs it.
We want the government to increase the funding that schools are given in order to give teenagers the chance to have a better mental health.
