We support increasing Staten Island Ferry service to half hourly around the clock, 7 days a week, while maintaining weekday rush hour frequency.

Currently, the Staten Island Ferry runs hourly from 1 AM to 5 AM on weekdays, hourly on Saturdays from 7 PM to 9 AM Sunday, and hourly on Sunday from 7 PM until 5 AM Monday. The lack of more frequent and consistent service is a detriment to Staten Island's tourism, a disservice to Staten Islanders who commute or travel to Manhattan, and a deterrent to those who would consider moving to Staten Island.

Restoration of late night half hourly ferry service has seen broad public support for over a decade. Increasing frequency of service would better serve Staten Island residents, commuters, and tourists, especially in anticipation of the new developments planned for the North Shore such as the New York Wheel, Harbor Commons, and Stapleton Homeport.
