Have you heard of David Almond? If you haven’t, he was a child in foster care with a tragic story. During the 7 months before he was found unresponsive in a one bedroom apartment, DCF missed 3 different check-ins. Senator John Velia stated that this could have been prevented with just one DCF visit in the 7 months. This is a clear example of why we need to advocate for more DCF visits in foster homes, even one could save a life like David Almond’s.
