TfL Pledge Action
Jul 21, 2014 — Dear Supporters,
As some of you may recall I mentioned in the last update that Transport expert David Quarmby who lives locally has been assisting with the campaign and had helped organised a meeting with Transport for London. Last Thursday myself, David Quarmby and David Walker of the Blackheath Society met with Mike Weston, Tfl’s Director of Buses, John Barry, Head of Network Development and a member of John’s team.
It was a very productive meeting in which TfL acknowledged that there is an issue with both frequency and capacity on the route and they would seek to address this issue. As mentioned in the previous update the findings of the research carried out by David Walker were sent over to TfL in advance of this meeting.
TfL are currently doing the costings for putting an additional bus on the 108 route at rush hour, they will consider running this bus on a ‘half service’ running between Lewisham and North Greenwich. In the more long-term TfL have agreed to look into the possibility of running a new Kidbrooke Village to North Greenwich route once tha development is complete and demand can be assessed accurately.
Although this is a start there is more to be done which is why we need to boost the number of people who have signed this petition. If you are a twitter or facebook user please share this petition with your friends and followers.
With best wishes
