Hello Everyone, this is for our advocacy assignment by Sama Jarad and Eghosa Bakare. 

As a community member and early childhood education students; We are petitioning the provincial government to address and also look into funding for students and families with special needs.  

Right now is the perfect time for us as Early Childhood Educators and also students to use our voices to advocate for more physical resources and additional educators should be provided or made available for children and families with special needs in the Early Childhood Classroom. It is very clear that every child has the right to receive the best possible education whether they have special needs or not. Parents are concerned about the cutbacks to special education which are affecting many schools’ boards across the province of Ontario, Canada including Hamilton public and Catholic School boards. Schools now need to try and balance their budget because of lack of funding from government for most vulnerable students. (Rushowy, Ferguson. 2017) Please kindly take a second look to read a, sign the petition, and share the report “Access To Quality Education For Children With Special Educational Needs”
