Malware, security and pop-up scams are all too common in today's society. everyone will have experienced a hoax call from an individual claiming they work for a company or service you pay for. While many of us consider ourselves to be 'tech-savvy', the number of individuals falling victim to these scams, thus paying out often large sums of money for little or no service in return, is surprisingly large. In a now web-driven generation, more children than ever are using mobile phones, computers and other electronic devices. Information technology is taught across the country to Key Stages 1 through 5.This petition is aiming to introduce an aspect of scam-awareness so to speak into the curriculum, in order to help better prepare young people against the ever-increasing army of internet scammers. Being equipped with knowledge ranging from identifying a scam, through to appropriate ways to act if one finds themselves being scammed, even a small module as part of an I.T class could prevent thousands of victims in decades to come.

Included is a video by Youtuber Jim Browning which I found helps both raise awareness and breaks down a scam in an easy and accessible way.

All rights go to Jim Browning.
