We only have about 6% taxpayers in India (around 8 crores) who face the brunt of upfront taxes in India. We are the ones responsible for feeding the subsidised communities. Nothing wrong with helping the needy. But what about the millions of business people who escape the taxes by showing income much less than what they are making. Extremely unfair. We pay 10/20/30% taxes, and get what?
The idea is to inceltivize the tax payers or give them facilities like the ones given in the western countries. Some of the ideas at the top of my head are -

1. Rebate in children’s education fee

2. Rebate in Health Insurance. Or at least create slabs as per the taxes paid. For example - people who pay taxes within the range of 1-1.5 lakh per annum get X amount of healthcare free or at x% discounted rates.

People find a way to escape taxes because it’s doing no good to them. Incentivizing it might be the first step to excite people into their duty of paying taxes.
