We are writing to address the issue of poor sewage and wastewater management in Mombasa County and to offer a feasible solution to the waste management department's present stakeholders that does not demand a lot of time or resources. We choose to focus on this subject because we believe it has a big impact towards the community, as sewage and wastewater contain bacteria, fungi, parasites, and viruses that can cause intestinal, lung, and other infections. Bacteria may cause diarrhea, fever, cramps, and sometimes vomiting, headache, weakness, or loss of appetite. Some bacteria and diseases carried by sewage and wastewater are E. coli, shigellosis, typhoid fever, salmonella, and cholera. The poorly managed sewage and wastewater causes a stench to be in the area, and this affects people, because the scent is unhealthy for human beings.
