Why this petition matters

Started by Webby Sp alumni

In Wisconsin, 850,000 residents have a mental health condition. In February of 2021, 36% of adults in Wisconsin reported symptoms of anxiety and depression. Nearly 20% of those who needed mental health care did not receive it. We want to raise awareness about these disparities in mental health access for uninsured and under-insured residents of Wisconsin. If we do not address these issues, we will not see improvements in social aspects like reduced poverty, homelessness, hospitalizations, and crime/incarceration in the state. If we do act on these issues we can see more positive outcomes like increased quality of life, higher community engagement, and improved health outcomes.
