We are waiting 2 years just for the initial  appointment let alone a diagnosis. On top of this there are 2 separate pathways. So if the answer to ADHD assessment is no then you are put back on the waiting list for assessment of ASD. When one is often a co morbidity of the other they should be assessed at the same time.  In the mean time our children are suffering. We arent able to access the support they need. This means they are falling further and further behind at school. Often entering secondary school without a diagnosis and no support. This is setting the children up to fail before they have started. The county is well behind the times, if I moved to Leicestershire the whole process would take 18 months from the first referral. Not 4 years!!! This MUST change!!!
