Dear fellow dog lovers,

We need your signature to convince the mayor and council that there is strong interest in the following ideas to improve the dog park:

1. Turn the water at the former pool building back on. We need a source of drinking water for the dogs.

2. Increase the size of the two fenced in areas to include some of the (now muddy) grassy area towards the entrance. Our dogs need more space to run and play.

3. Change the footing from the existing gravel that hurts our dogs' paws to either astroturf or at least mulch/wood chips depending on funding.

We are grateful and happy that Tenafly finally has a dog park where dogs can run off leash, socialize with other dogs and give dog owners a space to socialize. We want to make the dog park better and more welcoming for the dogs and their owners. The benches added by the boy scouts recently are wonderful and the soon to be installed agility tunnels will add more interest. With the changes we propose above, this place can become a wonderful meeting place for the dogs and their humans and add to the value of living in Tenafly. The mayor and town council are open to suggestions but we have to show that there is enough interest in making these changes. Please sign this petition and share it with your facebook friends.
