Improve Road Safety and Traffic Conditions in Saratoga Springs, Utah

The Issue

As a parent of children attending three different schools off Pony Express in Saratoga Springs, I witness daily the hazardous conditions that our kids, parents, and community members face due to unmanaged roads. There are no safe ways to enter and exit school grounds for both pedestrians and vehicles. This situation is not just inconvenient; it's a ticking time bomb for accidents or even worse - kids being struck.

Saratoga Springs has seen significant growth over the years. However, our road infrastructure has not kept pace with this development. The traffic patterns are chaotic especially during peak hours around schools leading to congestion and safety concerns.

We need immediate action from our local authorities to address these issues. We urge them to redesign traffic patterns around schools for smoother flow of vehicles, improve road conditions by regular maintenance and repair works, ensure adequate signage for better navigation, create safe turnouts or exit options near schools.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), most pedestrian car accidents occur in urban areas like ours where non-interstate roads intersect with each other (source: NHTSA). Our children deserve safer routes to their education institutions.

Addition of a commuter highway similarly designed to Timpanogas  highway would be an invaluable asset to the community, providing safety for students, faculty, and community members by providing efficient means of travel.  The over growth experienced by Saratoga Springs has far out paced the development of safe roadways.

Let's make Saratoga Springs a safer place for everyone by improving our roads' conditions. Sign this petition today!
