The quality and safety of current conditions at Butterfield Park Baseball field used by Elmhurst University Baseball program has been rapidly declining over the years. It has become a "safety issue" for all players participating in the baseball program. Our Student/Athletes deserve a quality place to practice and play home games consistent with a quality Division III academic institution such as Elmhurst University and consistent with all the other CCIW conference baseball programs.  

Elmhurst University and Elmhurst Park District Executives need to discuss and address this quality issue and decide the improvements that need immediate change (such as upgrade gravel infield, improve outfield drainage problem and maintain the infield/outfield grass appropriately to improve safety and quality of play) and create a plan to make these improvements a reality.   

Elmhurst University has a great story to tell and its location and academic opportunities for current and future Student/Athletes makes it a rewarding place to build a career.
