The stretch of Tamarack from College to Hope Elementary is dangerous for our kids walking and riding their bikes to and from school. The road is a steep downhill grade, consists of several blind turns, does not have bike lanes along the low income neighborhoods and has a speed limit of 35mph. The road is not considered "Residential" by the City of Carlsbad and therefore does not fit within the Carlsbad Residential Traffic Management Program.
This petition is an effort to implement road safety measures that will reduce speeding traffic and help prevent accidents.
Changes requested:
- Designate Tamarack as a "Residential" road and change posted speed to 25mph
- Install speed centuries to monitor speed
- Install bike lanes
- Install additional road signage to deter speeding
