The language barrier in social work settings is problematic, and by focusing our attention to eliminating this barrier, we are helping provide resources to entire populations in need of help. Spanish is an extremely common language in the United States. However, the limited amount of Spanish speaking social workers is inhibiting the fullest impact of change we can bring.
