Why this petition matters

Started by Rita Fahek

As living expenses begin to increase rapidly in Windsor, many families and lone individuals struggle to sustain living security. Many who have become vulnerable to this include workers who are underemployed or are making a living working full time with minimum wage. However, considering the prices now, minimum wage for means of survival is insufficient.

By increasing the minimum wage to $16.50, a more rational living wage, the government is able to provide individuals with financial independence and decrease the the dependancy load of the country as a whole.

Since the government seems incapable of bringing many who find themselves homeless, on welfare or ODSP back to a secure form of living, it is only right that the government works on finding the root problem of these predicaments individuals are finding themselves in.

By signing this petition, we are bringing awareness to an issue that is impacting many lives along, not only Windsor, but throughout Canada in hopes that the government realizes that some form of Change along the area should be made.
