The world is suffering with waste and landfill issues, and we still don't have a plastic bottle deposit program in Ontario!? Please sign today to ensure our government implements a bottle bill that includes deposit returns on all plastic bottles - not just liquor and beer returns. 

Ontario and Manitoba are the only two provinces without a deposit return program for plastic bottles. As a result, Ontario has the lowest plastic bottle recycling rate in the country. The government is not doing anything to help reduce, reuse, and recycle all used plastic bottles in this province. Alberta bottle depots were able to achieve an 84% return rate; divert 2,100,354,229 beverage containers; saved 699,617,492 kWh of energy; and avoid 204,095,621 in Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) in 2021.

Ontario has a joint municipal and industry-funded curbside recycling system for all residential beverage containers and alcohol beverage containers (wine, beer and spirits) that can be returned for a deposit-return at The Beer Store. The government must include a bottle bill which allows for deposit-return on all plastic bottles at a stand-alone location. (Individuals should not have to go to a location that promotes alcohol consumption by making individuals go to a beer store for return.)
