Please provide your anti-CD56 drug to the Children's Oncology Group for a phase 1 clinical trial for children with cancers such as Neuroblastoma and Wilms Tumor

Children with cancer deserve our support and need more research! For every dollar spent in the cancer world, children only receive about 4 cents. While children only make up a very small percentage of the overall cancer population, they are perhaps the most important part; our very future. When we think about the "potential years lost" when we lose a child to cancer, saving our children becomes imperative.
Like it or not, the pharmaceutical industry is big business. Drug companies typically do not invest in new drugs for children with cancer because they are such a small population that the drug company is not likely to see a return on their investment.
Despite this situation, children with cancer still need our attention and support. Studies need to be run with promising new drugs to expand our knowledge about childhood cancer, and to provide access to these drugs for children who have no other options. At a "gut-level" most people support the idea of saving a child with cancer, despite the fact that their may be "no money in it" for the drug company.
The Children's Oncology Group (the major consortium of pediatric cancer centers) is ready to launch a phase 1 clinical trial for children with CD56-expressing cancers, such as Neuroblastoma and Wilms Tumor. There is much support for this trial, and many children would like access to this anti-CD56 drug, Lorvotuzumab-mertanisine (IMGN901).
The drug company which owns this drug (ImmunoGen) has been hesitant to provide a supply of it to the COG to run this trial. They have sent mixed messages about whether they will provide the drug or not. We would like to show them that there is a lot of support for the launch of this trial, and that we would like them to provide a supply of the drug so that we can get this trial opened. IMGN901 is thought to have a lot of potential in several childhood cancers, and we would very much like to run this trial to both study and provide access to this drug.
By signing this petition, you will be showing ImmunoGen that many people would like to see this trial launched, and that children with cancer deserve our support and attention. It will send a clear message that ImmunoGen should simply provide the drug to the COG so they can run a clinical trial with it for children with CD56-expressing cancers.
