Illegal demolition has taken place as well as land clearance. The brick building in the question was a office and toilet block which was built in the 1940's at the end of the trimming shop has been flattened. There is nothing in the plans to say the building will be demolished the building was not photographed before demolition. St modwen do not permission demolish any building on the works site. This proves St Modwen can not be trusted to keep the parts of the site they have promised.
On the site of the lidl store track has been excavated from the former workshops and wire hawsers used on capstans for shunting. None of which has been recorded or given to the museum.
It is not known if any investigation was carried out as to ground contamination before the dust storm blew over the Stratford Road triggered by the land clearance. No where in the documents does it say of any contamination which is strange as the site used to house the paint shops till the late 1980s
There was no attempt to damp down dust on site which can be dangerous.
It is time now the application was got rid of and site should given to York museum as a living museum working with Knorr-Bremse and Milton Keynes museum
