Coming soon? WITH YOUR HELP!
Hello, Fayetteville State University students and future FSU students!
I am starting a petition. I am proposing to the school the importance of offering ASL as a language course on the FSU campus. With the growing need for interpretation and communication within the community, you can help pave the way for the upcoming courses.
According to the NIDCD(2016), 1 in 8 Americans have hearing loss in both ears. About 2 to 3 out of every 1,000 children in the United States are born with some type of hearing loss in one or both ears.More than 90 percent of deaf children are born to hearing parents. There is a need to be able to communicate with your fellow peers and surrounding communities.
It’s important to know that these numbers affect your community and with your help we can learn ASL together and make the world a little better one step at a time. I can’t do this without your help! Sign the petition. Use the #FSUASL2018 Tweet me your thoughts @aguacatevida
Disclaimer: I am not asking for money. If you want to donate the donations will go to Fayetteville State in hopes of obtaining the ASL courses on campus.
