Allow families behind glass have food and drinks
Families come to visit to spend quality and needed time with their loved one. It's a time to bond and keep our loved ones motivated and strong. We know how important human interaction is. We have this time to also share some snacks and drinks as we sit for two hours. Some families have their visits behind glass. That is hard enough in itself. CDCR has decided that behind glass means that families do not deserve a drink or a snack and this is not just unfair but cruel. Why deny food to our loved one because they are behind glass? Families will feel guilty eating or drinking in front of them. Though the visit is behind glass they still have been allowed visiting privileges and that should include a simple drink or food item from the vending machine. We are asking CDCR to start looking at some of their policies and the old school way which has been cruel and unusual punishment. We are asking CDCR to start making positive changes on their own and not being forced by a bill that has passed to start treating our loved ones like humans. To start seeing what real Rehabilitation is. It starts with treating them like humans. Giving them opportunities to feel human. CDCR has got to see with so many changes coming that the time is now to change old barbaric practices that they have forced our loved ones to live by and start rebuilding positive rules within their system. We ask CDCR to stop believing that taking away food and drinks is the way to treat so many that they hold in their custody. Please sign and share this petition! Change cannot come unless we do something.
