Parents and students for a new Lowell high school
0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,000!
Building a new Lowell high school is the best choice for the students of Lowell.
The students require a new twenty-first century school that will provide them with a state of the art facility and the best learning environment they can have.
A partial renovation is not enough. Renovations have been done in the past, and they did not produce adequate results. Our taxpayer dollars have been wasted on those renovation attempts, and it's time to move on to a new school.
The students will be exposed to construction noise and debris for a duration of 5-7 years if a partial renovation takes place. If we get a new school, it will take 3-4 years without the students going to school in a construction zone. It's not worth risking the health and well-being of students when there are known toxins at the current site ( lead, asbestos, arsenic, mold ).
A new school will also bring with it a purpose-designed modern bus system so that the 1200 students who currently walk up to 30 minutes to school each day in bad weather can get there from their homes in comfort.
Please help us build a better and safer future for the students, and let go of nostalgia. Please encourage other Lowellians who support a new school to join with us. Let's build a better school that addresses the needs of all our children!
