Stop planning of the B3 corridor option for the Illiana Toll Road

It is imperative to petition the development of a 6 or 8 lane toll road between Cedar Lake and Lowell Indiana. This will destroy the quality of life for its residents. The small town feel with its tranquil and quiet existence will be lost forever. Please don't sit idly by and let this happen to our American dream.

The development of this toll road is proposed to be built and funded by a private party in order to service the Peotone airport. This will certainly not be without cost incured by Lake, Kankakee, and Will Counties and its residents. The road situation in Lake County is in enough trouble without taking more funding away. What will happen to our emergency responder routes (ie fire department, ambulance, and police)? What will happen to our school bus routes? What will happen to the farmers whose fields are cut in half by the toll road; how will they access their fields? All questions asked to the Corridor Planning Group at the recent meeting at the Crown Point High School without answer.

The negative environmental, financial, and socioeconomic impacts exceedingly outweigh any positive outcomes that could be imagined by building the Illiana Toll Road. Please talk to your local representatives, neighbors, and friends that live in Lake, Porter, Kankakee or Will Counties. This will negatively affect all of us.
