Make animal cruelty and abuse a felony in Idaho
"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." -Mahatma Gandhi
47 states have made animal abuse a felony. We are one of three that have not. Especially because of the recent Zoo Boise Patas monkey death, this is a potential law that needs to be reconsidered.
Currently animal abuse in Idaho can be considered a felony after the third convinction with proof of "malicious intent". There is no felony charge for first or second time convinctions, therefore no penalties for repeat offenders. Let's work together to protect the rights and safety of animals in Idaho.
