Icon 330 Waterloo: Have your voice heard at the Landlord Tenant Board hearing

Today, I filed with the Landlord Tenant Board against Icon Waterloo, the Landlord, and the Landlord's Agents. For those of you who signed a lease last year, we are now in the ninth month of living in an apartment building which remains unfinished. To those of you who moved in more recently, you are likely experiencing some sort of a headache whether that be from the fact that one of the two elevators in your tower always seems to be out of service, or from the constant presence of contractors and builders who are working each day to complete this project which was supposed to be finished last September. We continue to pay our full price of rent despite eating, sleeping, and living in a construction zone.
The amenities that we were told would be included in our rent have not been provided, as promised. Further, Icon's website has removed the following amenities: "Shuttle rides directly to campus and weekly grocery runs", "Rooftop volleyball court", "Tanning beds", and "Ice machines", which were arguably some of their best selling points for students who agreed to sign their leasing contract.
Like many of you, I received this email on February 22, 2017, which stated:
"We are pleased to announce that as of Monday, February 27th, tenants with a valid parking pass will be able to park their vehicle in the underground parking lot. After February 27th, the above ground parking lot will be designated for temporary visitor parking only.
If you have a visitor that plans to park their car at ICON overnight, you will need to sign in their vehicle and pick up a parking pass at the front desk. All unregistered visitor or tenant vehicles parked in the above ground parking lot will be tagged or towed at the owner's expense.
Please note that each unit is permitted a maximum of 10 visitor parking passes per month and no 1 license plate can be registered for more than 10 days a month."
...only to be told on March 10, 2017:
"There is no visitor parking and there will continue to be no visitor parking until we can control the parking lot."
...and the next excuse on May 8, 2017:
"Please be advised that parking is ONLY permitted to valid parking pass holders and in designated parking spots. Please DO NOT park in the courtyard or without a pass in the underground to avoid Tickets and or Tow which will be done at the owner's expense.
Due to limited parking, we DO NOT offer visitor parking."
Of course, these are a limited few instances where Icon Waterloo and its team have lacked professionalism and an overall general concern for the well-being of their tenants. Please do not feel any obligation to sign this petition, however, if you are extremely disappointed in the ways in which Icon Waterloo, the Landlord's Agents, building managers, and/or employees handle requests, concerns, and inquiries, it would be very much appreciated if you took a moment to sign your name to express your disappointment. I will post updates of the time and date of hearings if anyone wishes to attend as well as any other information I receive throughout the process.
