Stop caged eggs in Iceland shops
This petition had 687 supporters
Iceland stocks and sells both caged and free range eggs - the normal caged eggs are priced 10p per egg, whilst the free range large eggs are priced 14.8p per egg, so 60p for six eggs versus 88p for six. The difference is so small, that any argument from need for cheap cost as rationale for stocking caged chicken eggs is flimsy and transparently self-serving. Most supermarkets have phased out caged eggs as barbaric, cruel and vicious to the poor creatures forced to deliver these so-called 'cheap' options to Iceland's customers. Get with the movement - phase caged eggs out and off from your shelves and go for happy eggs, now!
