To Interim Field Office Director Gallagher, Asst. Field
Office Director Thurlow, and Community Outreach Director Lorenzen-Strait:
Please stop Janet’s deportation and allow her to stay in the US with her children and community! Since arriving to this country in 1998, Janet raised three beautiful daughters and American citizens Valentina (Age 13), Isabella (Age 7) and Emely (Age 6), contributed to our economy and volunteered in the community.
Janet has worked hard to better our community and provide for her children, from working in restaurants to attending classes and trainings at Urban College and Boston University to obtain certificates in the field of Child Development and Public Health. She is also a dedicated volunteer in her daughters’ schools, the Dever- McCormick Elementary School and the Epiphany School, and her church Saint Cristopher’s in Boston. Three years ago, Janet sought legal consul and tried to regularize her immigration status. During this process, she received her work permit and she worked as a Resident Health Advocate with Boston University School of Public Health Partners in Health and Housing Prevention Research Center and as a teacher’s assistant at Dimock Head Start in Roxbury, Massachusetts. Yet despite the fact that she has been an exemplary community member for 15 years, worked and paid taxes, and has no arrest record nor criminal record, Janet received notice that her work permit and immigration appeal has been denied. I am signing this petition to urge that you stop Piedad Janet Munoz Zapata (A-087-787-970)’s deportation and grant Janet prosecutorial discretion and work authorization to keep Janet home with her children and community!
