Spanish Lake is a lake formed off the remains of an Oxbow lake in New Iberia, Louisiana

The lake has been a well known spot for fishing for the past century and it is also a known to be a good place to hang out, walk around, and ride bikes on. 
Spanish lake has been home to many residents who live along it and many people who visit it commonly. 

But there are many problems with the area surrounding this lake and the lake itself.

Many years ago the lake was much bigger than it is now, but a very unintelligent problematic decision was made to drain this lake and reduce size. Once that event occurred a levee with a gravel road on top it was constructed sometime in the 50s

This Levee has been repaired in years between then and now and a drainage pump system was made at the same time with a. funnel taking the water from the lake and spitting it back into the marsh where the old lake was. This keeps the water level low enough so that the lake doesent overflow.

I am proposing that the Levees be repaired, A pavilion be built in the front. Maybe a small park with tables and benches and a new dock be constructed. And lastly, a controlled structure be built to maintain the water levels and increase the size of the lake. 

If rn is is much to ask i understand but i would certainly be ok with whatever is possible.
