When my English teacher at William W. Bodine of International Affairs in Philadelphia, PA, told my class that the funds for the accelerated programs in the School District of Philadelphia will no longer be funded, our jaws dropped and we were so afraid and worried of our future.
One of these programs is the IB Diploma Progamme. This program is an academically, challenging programme of education that prepares stduents for success in a university and beyond life. Through this special program, students develop skills, make connections internationally, explore the nature of knowledge, enhance their personal and interpersonal development through CAS (creativity, service, and service) and much more. What we get from this program will definitely help us become the best we can be and spread that with the people and things around us.
I want to show the world that not only education is the key to our future but we enjoy what we learn and gain through special programs that are given in our schools. I started to help all students to get the education they need in these types of programs. I care for the future of my life and my peers. I do not want to lose my chance at learning, growing, accomplishing, developing, succeeding, etc. It also affects our parents and teachers. They are the ones who motivate us to be great and successful. They do not want us to fail in life and they do want us to get the best education we can get. Every child should be granted a program to learn more and enhance their knowledge and wisdom.
We desire and need our IB and AP accelerated programs in The School District of Philadelphia. We want to accomplish our main goal: give our future stundets the education they need to achieve, strive, and succeed in life. It can change a person's life, especially mine. We learn and succeed in life to make a difference in the world and change the face of our future.
