The Circuit of Faveyrol in France, is going to specialize in historic, classic and vintage cars, which is of economic, social and sustainable development to the area. The Faveyrol team is proud of the local territories of Dordogne and Charente, but they also see our region dying. They see a future for it, thanks to the Faveyrol Circuit, which is 95% complete (do not hesitate to look at our Facebook page). Unfortunately, people against the circuit decided to go to court and complain about the classification of the fields which are the property of Yves Dominault, the project leader. So, if you agree with us, sign this petition, and why not send your support to Yves Dominault, who is also a local resident.
Entrepreneur and enthusiast of vintage cars, Yves Dominault decided to build the track when he realized it was becoming increasingly difficult in France to use vintage cars on track. He wants to democratize this sport, especially to learn and teach the control of cars in all circumstances through driving schools. The schools of Charente and Dordogne are very important to Yves, students will have the opportunity to learn the skills required to work on cars and fabricating parts for them.
The circuit is located:
- 40min/ 30 km from Angoulême (mythical city of the International Circuit of the Remparts which attracts thousands of French and foreign tourists each year)
- 1h/ 50 km from Périgueux (symbol of gastronomy and history)
- 1h30 from Limoges (in proximity of an airport for English tourists)
- 1h45 from Bordeaux (in proximity of an airport for English tourists)
- 2h40 from Paris by train
This track is positioned in a strategic place by the territorial culture, which brings every year more and more tourists thanks to the inns, restaurants, hotels, museums, castles, cellars, etc ... and by its ease of access.
The association against the project complains about the ecological aspect because Dordogne is an agricultural area in France. However, it is important to remember that the Faveyrol Circuit team followed the procedures and the multiple studies that have been approved by the State services, developments calculated, presented and validated are already planned to carry out a positive project in carbon balance. Concerning the lands, they were selected due to their bad quality (stony and little depth) for agricultural purposes, so no consumption of agricultural land is deployed thanks to the use of these unexploited lands.
The circuit will be open to all for pleasure and self-improvement. Dealers and training organizations will be the first to use the track (70% of the expected cars are for tourism and therefore very quiet). In addition, the circuit is limited to 95db, and has been validated by the FFSA to ensure optimal security for users.
A motor track specializing in vintage and historic cars does not mean it is limited to activity of the combustion engine. Vehicles quite the contrary, electric, disabled sports and cycling are at the forefront of this project too.
“Sharing, Passion and Tourism” are the key words of this private project, that the community can also benefit from, by offering accommodation, great food, tours, and businesses.
In short, following this legal decision, the whole project can collapse, and the different investments could be lost, while the circuit is finished at 95%, so please SIGN!
