The Frick is a remarkable experience, a visual smorgasbord of artwork and architecture to which there are also the delightful pleasures of a music room which doubles as a lecture hall, and a research library. No matter how many times one visits the Frick, it is with renewed anticipation. Crossing the threshold of museum's entrance where inside guards direct visitors to the Reception Hall, one’s senses slowly attune to their new surroundings and to the promise of perceptual awakenings. Few perceptual transitions in the world are as satisfying as that of the Frick Reception Hall. To change it would be an egregious affront to those familiar with it and to future generations of visitors, who will ask, “What were they thinking?”

I love music and the new design erases the historic beauty and grandeur of the original building which to me is sad. The original design should be kept. And maybe they can offer some period music in the music room to further connect with the visitors.

I love the Frick Collection and would hate to see it remuddled.

Please respect the integrity of this special, special, place. The stripping away of “ugly” ornament is the crime, not the ornament itself.

We need to stop screwing around with historic buildings. They're beautiful as they are. Leave them alone.
