On Sunday, a few of us went out to Corbett-Dalhousie Lake Forest to measure trees, and to count tree rings on stumps to calculate the age of trees. Some of the Yellow Birch we measured were as much as 30 to 32 inches in diameter (DBH). There was a 138 year old American Beech - the stump of a tree cut last autumn. We are taking the positive results of this petition -- so far it has 770 signatures -- and going to our local and provincial representatives, asking for a halt to any more cutting of this hardwood stand on the peninsula at Corbett-Dalhousie Lakes. Your show of support is so appreciated! Thank you!!
