I am a licensed Vendor who has chosen a spot to sell harmless Fragrance Products on an un-used toll road that can no longer be driven through. I have been at this location for 3 years already. This location has been good for the community because it saves the people of the community from being forced to travel to the neighboring state of Maryland and The District Of Columbia. In Fact, there most of the people of those other 2 districts venture here to purchase my products. So I also help establish Economic growth within my own community because my customers shop at other locations while they’re here to purchase my products. I help to keep ALL our businesses thriving. What needs to change is being told that the Virginia Department Of Transportation owns Public Property when it is very clear that they are funded by the publics tax dollars to maintain the roads. If my petition wins, then I will continue to be one of the Sole Proprietors available for our community to purchase products that are very hard to find in our community, and I have made that very easy for all. If my petition loses, EVERYONE will be forced to travel too far for products that I have made easy for them to get. I have created my own income, and have been one of the Success stories for Victims of Homelessness which Fairfax County has worked hard to help me with.  If this Petition loses, they will put me right back in the Shelter I came from, where they helped me to get out of. If this petition loses, it will be proved to be “ Double Jeopardy “.
