4 days a week

4 days a week
Why this petition matters

I am petitioning for a 4 day school week as apposed to our current 5 day schedule.I believe this will make the students learning a more enjoyable and productive experience for both the teachers and the kids. Not only would it allow the kids and teachers to get more rest, but also it would allow more time for families to bond and have recreation time together. Some kids and families have sports or events that take up their entire weekend and they do not have time to relax, study, or bond with each-other. By extending the weekend people may not be as tired or feel the need for school to end. The more hours/time off allows the kid to have adequate time to allow the brain to recover, relax, and recharge. This allows the student to achieve higher levels of focus in class. Longer intervals between learning sessions allows the students brain and mind to feel more open and apt to learn. Their brain will have more room to store more knowledge because it had adequate resting and filing time.
Studies in China, have shown increased productivity when they changed their work week from 5 days a week to 4 days a week.Reducing the number of days in the work week encouraged employees to work at a faster and more efficient pace. The employee satisfaction rate went up as well. With the employees being more satisfied, they are more likely to remain at there job for a longer period of time. This would be good for both the employee and the company they work for.
Comparatively, students would work harder in school to get their work done on time because they have less days to complete the same amount of work. One more day off would give students higher satisfaction and increase their desire to learn, and ability to retain more knowledge.Teacher satisfaction would also rise. They would have more time to grade papers ,plan assignments, more time with family, and reduced stress.
