I Support the Sarasota County Schools Mask Mandate!

As a parent or guardian of a student in Sarasota Schools, a community member, or an employee of a Sarasota based company, I unequivocally support the Sarasota County School Board in their decision to implement a mask mandate while the community is at such a high risk.

I stand behind our medical community as they fight to save lives ravaged by this virus. I want them to know that I care about curbing this virus and am willing to do my part. I will also ask my children to do their part, as well, so that together we can slow down the spread of this deadly virus. These front-line medical workers need a reprieve from dealing with this disease and if we can help them, we pledge to do all that we can.

I believe in the science presented by the following health organizations that all urge universal indoor masking:

  • CDC - Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
  • AAP - American Academy of Pediatrics
  • AMA - American Medical Association
  • ANA - American Nurses Association
  • AHA - American Hospital Association
  • SMH - Sarasota Memorial Hospital

I believe that the fight over masks has gotten out of control and I no longer wish to engage with the small contingent of people fighting against it. I feel strongly that it is wasting valuable resources and negatively affecting the children of our community.

I believe that it is best for the children of Sarasota to be able to do in-person learning. I also believe in public education and trust the teachers and administrators to make the best possible decisions for the children of Sarasota County Schools while they are on campus.

I support you, Sarasota County School Board members.
