I'm ENGAGED to win the freedom to marry
No one wants to be told it’s illegal to marry the person they love. And with your help, fewer and fewer people will have to know what that’s like.
We’ve reached a tipping point. As more people talk to gay and lesbian friends and family about why marriage matters, they’re coming to realize that marriage equality is not a political issue. It’s about love, commitment and family.
Oregon is next. We are more confident than ever that Oregon will lead the way and be the first state to vote out a constitutional amendment limiting the freedom to marry.
Make no mistake, this will not be an easy path. In Washington, it took over 12 million dollars and more than 30,000 volunteer hours to maintain a four-point margin of support (greater public support for marriage than we have in Oregon now). But with your help, we WILL get to the day when all Oregonians can marry the person they love.
If we want to launch a 2014 ballot campaign to win the freedom to marry in Oregon, we need you to get ENGAGED today! Sign the petition and commit to joining the effort to make history in Oregon.
I'm ready to help make Oregon the first state to vote out a constitutional amendment limiting the freedom to marry.
I'm ready to help raise the resources we need to move forward!
I'm committed to having at least 10 conversations about why marriage matters by the end of the year! In fact, I’ll forward this petition to ten friends right now!!
Basic Rights Oregon started this pledge with a single signature, and now has 5,550 supporters. Start a petition today to change something you care about.
