In February of 2020 when the world was changing we got the news that no parent wants to hear , our son had cancer.  We was diagnosed with alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma which only effects less than 500 people  worldwide a year.  From the initial diagnosis we knew it wasn’t good but our son who was an all star soccer athlete and an excellent student academically still tried to do his schoolwork. There were days that he would go thru it and days he couldn’t even move because of how sick he was.  He passed away in august of 2021 right before the beginning of his senior year. All I wanted as a  Parent  was to see what my son tried so hard to accomplish was receive his diploma. We are forever grateful that our son  Did Receive his diploma. I know ro some it’s a piece of paper but to me it’s more than that .  I feel if parents could just receive there child’s diploma as a memory it could give some closure .  We are forever grateful that our community has supported us and our son.
