Increase Utah Dental Hygiene Class sizes by 25%

Increase Utah Dental Hygiene Class sizes by 25%
There is a current shortage of Hygienist available in Utah- specifically in Salt Lake and surrounding counties.
Dental practices has seen a decrease in hygienist actively working since Covid, whether it’s to stay home with their families, relocating, or given up the profession.
The Census Bureau Population Division estimates that Utah's population increased at a rate of 17.6% in 2020, the highest rate of any state in the nation.
The Dental Hygiene Schools are not providing enough hygienist to serve the surrounding Utah population.
There needs to be a 25% increase in the amount of students each school is accepting for the hygiene programs.
We need certified DENTISTS in Utah to sign this petition stating they are suffering from a hygiene shortage! In hopes that the schools will increase their acceptance size for Fall 2022 by 25%.
