Parent Advocate started this petition to Hy-Vee and

The owner of BitterSweet Gluten-Free Bakery, Laureen Narva, went on a racist rant at a school board meeting on June 29th, 2021.  A few of her comments....

-"BLM is the most racist organization in US History"
-Called critical race theory "teaching kids to hate their country in the name of social justice"
-Complaining about the moment of silence for George Floyd (picking her children up from school so they wouldn't be exposed to it)
-Name dropping veterans' sacrifice to push a racist interpretation of the constitution
-"Educate, don't indoctrinate"
-"A little history lesson: we went to war with ourselves, brothers killed brothers so black people could be free" lol, yeah so we don't need CRT
-"The pledge of allegiance means one nation under God. Not Allah. Not buddha or any other. We just pledged our loyalty and devotion to the flag"

People of this country should be able to live and thrive without persecution or oppression.  You'd think after the events of the last 24 months, especially in the Minneapolis area, that people of all races, religions, and creeds would be welcome in our schools, businesses, and beyond.

This petition is to call on the various retailers, coffee shops, and other food-based establishments to reject bigotry, racism, and social injustice by no longer purchasing and directly supporting the racism that BitterSweet Bakery stands for.  Whether you're Christian or not, we must be intolerant of racial views that divide our society even further.
